Museums are community storytellers. We inform the community about the past while looking ahead to the future.

The Michilimackinac Historical Society is a place where stories of the Straits area come to life. We believe that history should be accessible to everyone, and so through intriguing artifacts, exhibits, and programs, we interpret the rich, multifaceted history of this region. We look forward to bringing our reward compelling exhibits to the community at the Straits Cultural Center, scheduled to open in the near future.

Our rare artifacts form the keystone to our mission and must be preserved for today and future generations. If these treasures disappear into the mists of time, they cannot be recreated or replaced.  They simply will be gone, and with them our physical connection to the past.  Your gift helps us preserve and share those treasures with visitors of all ages.
