The MHS Bridging History Celebration

This annual fundraising event honors a Straits area resident who has demonstrated a commitment to the preservation and promotion of the region’s history. The event aims to be an immersive history celebration where the evening’s theme is based on a historical element (i.e. steamships of the Great Lakes), and corresponds with the historical presentation and planned activities. A small pop-up exhibit, based on the event’s theme, will included objects from the museum’s collection. The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the MHS Bridge Award for Historical Impact. It is given to individuals who inspire us with their outstanding philanthropy, community involvement, and their dedication to preserving history so that others may learn from it.

Attendees are treated to a catered dinner by Vernales Restaurant and live music. The net proceeds of this event go towards the completion of the Straits Cultural Center so that the doors can be thrown open and the rich history and traditions of the Straits area can be shared with the community once again.
