"Happiness doesn’t come from what we get, but from what we give."
- Ben Carson
Looking for a thoughtful hostess gift, a keepsake from your trip or a unique birthday surprise? Why not consider the many delightful options available through the Museum Store? We have curated an impressive set of regional specialties, handmade crafts, and intriguing books about the fascinating history of this area.
Your gift purchase will actually give twice: once to delight and impress the person to whom you give it, and a second time as it provides financial support to the Museum.
Store Highlight
An important note: Starting in January until the end of March our hours will be reduced to Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 2:30 PM. We will not be open on Saturdays.
The New Year has started with more than New Year's resolutions. I'm talking about the chilly temperatures. While many of us would prefer to stay inside, wrapped in a thick blanket, and sipping hot chocolate or coffee, we all will eventually have to leave our blanket cocoons and go outside. Let MHS help you stay warm with wool mittens, winter hats, and scarves. When you come back inside, enjoy your favorite hot beverage in a new mug, featuring the designs of Michigan artists, while reading a great book on Michigan's history.
Here are just a few of unique Michigan made items you can find in our Museum Store, located at 330 N. State Street:
local history and children’s books
one-of-a-kind jewelry
garden decor
hand-crafted soaps and lotions
replicas of portraits in the McKenney & Hall Collection
