Born in Sault Ste. Marie in 1800, Jane Johnston Schoolcraft was a prolific writer of poems and stories. Her Ojibway mother and European-American fur trader father instilled in her a love for the written word and sharing her heritage. Come to hear about this amazing woman, who was the first-known Native-American writer. Presented by Michael Albani, Ph.D. Candidate at Michigan State University.
