In 1965, “The Monroe Monster,” a huge, hairy beast, allegedly attacked a woman and her daughter on a Monroe back road. Monster hunters believed that a creature had escaped the nearby Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Plant laboratory. It sparked national news and “Monster Specials” at local businesses—but what was it?
