It’s time to celebrate! La Compagnie Musical Dance Troupe makes a return engagement to honor the founding of the St. Ignace by Fr. Jacques Marquette in 1671. The rich history of St. Ignace and the Straits will be presented in narration, song and dance.
Musical numbers span a 400 year time line and include selections from French Canada, Celtic Great Britain, American Folk, Great Lakes Maritime and snappy sing-alongs, pertinent to the long and diverse history of St. Ignace and the Straits of Mackinac.
Founded in 2007 by Genot Picor, La Compagnie Musical Dance Troupe has performed for the 350th Anniversary of the Soo, The Mackinaw Rendezvous and Trade Fair, Historic Ste. Anne’s Church on Mackinac Island, The Detroit Institute of Arts, the Historic Rogers City Theatre and at The Big Rapids Festival of the Arts. The St. Ignace Visitors Bureau is graciously sponsoring the event.
