[History Hounds] Michigan Avenue: A Journey Along the “Old Chicago Road” with Gail Offan & Jon Milan, authors and public speakers
With origins dating to the end of the last Ice Age, the road known today as Michigan Avenue was most familiar to early settlers as the Old Sauk Trail. Join the speakers on a pictorial road trip along the section called the “Old Chicago Road”—the only automobile route between Detroit and Chicago prior to the construction of I-94. Along the way, explore Michigan’s territorial history, Detroit’s Coney Island hot dog wars, the amusements of the Irish Hills, and more!
