History Hounds | The Railroad King: James F. Joy

[History Hounds] The Railroad King: James F. Joy with Nicholas A. Marsh, Author

James F. Joy of Detroit covered more than 715,000 square miles of the Midwest with railroads—several lines of which are still in use today. But “The Midwest Railroad King” did not stop there; Joy also helped build the Soo Locks, served as a University of Michigan regent, cofounded the Detroit College of Medicine, and won a pivotal court case with the help of Abraham Lincoln. Join us to learn about this towering figure in Michigan history.
