History Hounds | The Last Great Lakes Lightship: Huron LV-103

[History Hounds] The Last Great Lakes Lightship: Huron LV-103 with Larry Moquin, Port Huron Museums

The Huron Lightship, a vessel designed to act as a floating lighthouse, was launched from harbor in 1920 as LV-103, part of the U.S. Lighthouse Service. From 1936 until 1970, she served at Corsica Shoals on the southern end of Lake Huron, three miles off the Michigan shoreline. Join a docent from the Port Huron Museums to learn the story of the last lightship to sail the Great Lakes.
