History Hounds | Strategic Air Command: Kincheloe Air Force Base and a B-52 Crash

[History Hounds] Strategic Air Command: Kincheloe Air Force Base and a B-52 Crash with Barry Levine, Yankee Air Museum.

Join us to recall Northern Michigan’s aviation history. We will review Kincheloe AFB from World War II roots through its Strategic Air Command days, and also learn of the 1971 B-52 bomber crash in Little Traverse Bay near the Big Rock Nuclear Plant which could have caused a nuclear disaster.

We'd like to thank the Historical Society of Michigan (HSM), which supports local history organizations, like us! They are continuing to make their History Hounds Lecture Series available online for free to members of HSM’s member organizations. Register for this remote presentation by 3:00pm the previous day.
