History Hounds | Highway to History: Detroit's Middle Rouge River

[History Hounds] Highway to History: Detroit’s Middle Rouge River with Kathy Bliger, Friends of the Governor Warner Mansion

Henry Ford used the Middle Rouge River as an industrial sewer, but the river had a wide-ranging impact on Michigan from early exploration to fishing and the lumber industry. Join us for a metaphorical paddle up the Rouge, past the burial site of Chief Tonquish, ghost towns, and factories.

We'd like to thank the Historical Society of Michigan (HSM), which supports local history organizations, like us! They are continuing to make their History Hounds Lecture Series available online for free to members of HSM’s member organizations. Register for this remote presentation by 3:00pm the previous day. Click here to register. Select “A member of an Organizational Member of HSM” to enjoy this presentation at no charge.
