History Hounds | The Autotram: Battle Creek's Aluminum Railcar

[History Hounds] The Autotram: Battle Creek’s Aluminum Railcar with Robert Myers, Historical Society of Michigan

In 1932, Battle Creek’s Clark Equipment Company introduced a self-propelled railcar that it hoped would transform passenger service and save Clark from the Great Depression. Built of aluminum, with a V-16 engine, the Autotram hit speeds of 70 mph. Come learn about the railcar that Clark hoped would change America.
