This little Colt No. 2 single-shot derringer could be easily hidden. It was somewhat common for ladies to carry one in a purse or hand-muff, or bankers to keep below the desk. It also made a great little backup piece for guys to hide in their pant leg, just in case they got double-crossed at a poker game. You had to be extremely accurate and up-close with this weapon, because you only had one shot. It's a good example of early "Plan B!"
